The ultimate veggie protein blend starts with RPI
Rice Protein is commonly blended with Pea Protein to produce a powder with a balanced spectrum of amino acids.
While Rice Protein is high in the sulfur-containing amino acids, cysteine and methionine, but low in lysine, Pea Protein is low in cysteine and methionine but high in lysine, so they’re a perfect match when combined!
Together Rice and Pea proteins offer a superior amino acid profile that is comparable to dairy or egg proteins, but without the potential for allergies or intestinal issues that some users have with those proteins.
What’s more, the light, fluffy texture of Pea Protein Isolate tends to smooth out the strong, chalky flavour of the Rice Protein.

About Rice Protein Isolate
Rice Protein is an organic, lightly refined protein source made using brown rice. It’s low in fats and carbohydrates and has high levels of protein, alanine, arginine, glutamic acid and tyrosine. The amino acid spectrum is also considered broad for a plant-based protein.

Rice Protein FAQs
How is Rice Protein made?
Rice Protein is made by crushing and grinding the rice husks before treating with an enzyme. The enzymes job is to help separate the carbohydrate components (starch) from the available protein.
Why is Rice Protein a good protein?
Rice Protein is a good protein as it contains more than 85% protein with low levels of both fats and carbohydrates.
It contains all 9 essential amino acids and is close to an ideal “complete” protein. It is slightly low in Lysine, which prevents it being labelled complete by traditional standards.
Is Rice Protein good for building muscle?
Yes, while its bioavailability score of 90% is slightly lower than whey (100%) some studies as recently as 2018 suggested it builds muscle as well as whey. For a plant based protein source, it contains high amounts of L Leucine – a key amino for muscle growth. Rice Protein is absorbed slightly more slowly than whey which makes it ideal between meals.
Is Rice Protein lactose free?
Yes, Rice Protein is lactose free.
How much fat does Rice Protein contain?
Rice Protein contains around 4% fat, so is lower in fat than Pea Protein but higher than Whey Isolate.
Does Rice Protein contain cholesterol?
No, Rice Protein is cholesterol free as it is a plant protein.
Does Rice Protein contain gluten?
Rice Protein naturally contains no gluten, but we do process other ingredients in our facility that contain gluten.
How does Rice Protein taste?
Flavoured Rice Proteins are said to have an average taste.
Does Rice Protein have a strange texture?
Texture is rice proteins greatest weakness. It is best described as gritty and can be chalky. These textural issues have been resolved with a higher mesh protein, many companies now using finer powders which reduce this side effect.

100% Organic Brown Rice Protein Reviews
Vanilla Rice
Great product, good price, low flavour can mix with anything, fast next day delivery. Highly recommended
Taste bitter and would not ever recommend
I tried the Pea, Soy and Rice protein in Chocolate flavour. This is the worst out of them all. In fact it’s one of the worst tasting protein powders I’ve had. It taste like bitter and dirty unwashed rice. I corresponded with a representative at Bulk Nutrients who assures me this is how it’s supposed to taste and that perhaps I’m not used to the taste of rice. I eat rice pretty much every day, and I switch up between wild, brown, white rice so I’m pretty familiar with the taste of rice. This protein powder It’s bad. I don’t recommend it. Go with the Soy or Pea.
Silky Texture
Blends with oats really well, very smooth. Also made protein balls – mixes well with other ingredients. Nice choc flavour – could be a bit more choc flavour but like that it is free from extra ingredients
okay
its a cheap plant based protein, you get enough protein per 2scoops, tastes good but that texture is horrible tho really grainy and kind of irritates my throat after drinking it, overall earth protein is better protein but if you want to save more money this isn’t a bad choice either.
Great if you have soy allergy
This rice protein is the the best without any added soy protein or other protein variants.
If you are lactose and gluten intolerant and have soy allergy this is for you.
The chocolate flavour is good. I add this to my porridge in the morning and make a smoothie with frozen banana and rice milk. If like the taste of rice milk then the taste of this protein powder won’t be problem.
This product is great – thank you Bulk Nutrients
Love this stuff
Okay it’s not the greatest tasting protein powder but is easy to chug down when mixed with a minimal amount of water, is really easy to digest, gives good, solid gains, and I’ve even used it for my single protein source with a small amount of L-Lysine when recovering from bouts of illness.
Rice Protein Isolate
Vegan. Tastes like chocolate. A feel good drink as well as a protein supplement.
100% organic brown rice protein
Have been using this product over 4 years now and it helped us to rebuild muscle tissue ans muscle after suffering from Churg Strauss syndrome. Very good in helping elderly to recover .
Great
I have been using Protein Matrix+ by Bulk Nutrients since mid 2016 and have just switched to this instead. It’s smooth and easy to drink unlike many vegan proteins I’ve sampled. No weird grittiness. The chocolate flavour has a subtle choccie sweetness, and the vanilla tastes almost like nothing at all. Bang it out with some fruit or some yogurt mixed in and you’ve got a wonderful breakfast replacement. I’m happy with this, and will continue to use it now.
rice protein
It’s a great product. Helps my elderly Mum to regain strength
Superb For Sensitve Tummies
Not only is the the best value for money rice protein I’ve found to date. But it’s the only one that isn’t blended with soy protein or other protein variants.
I have a super sensitive tummy, lactose and gluten intolerant, IBS with multiple other sensitivity to food products and additives.
This is a clean protein, chocolate is tasty enough to have as a shake but I use it daily in my home made smoothie bowls. No bloating, no pain, blessing in a pack!!
I couldn’t rate this product high enough! Thanks Bulk Nutrients:)
Loveeee it!
I’ve tried a few organic rice protein shakes which were expensive and not palatable but since trying Bulk Nutrients I am never going back.
I bought the vanilla flavour and it tastes sooo good! It’s finely milled, not grainy at all and super smooth. I used to want to throw up drinking other brands but not this one. I always look forward to drinking my rice protein now :)
It also helps with some muscle growth and maintain my muscle mass.
